Community Education plays a key role in supporting youth through focused programs and opportunities. We provide more than just education and enrichment, we help contribute to a sound and thriving community by providing young people with engaging activities that help them grow.

Enrichment
Providing fun activities and learning opportunities for children year-round; after-school, in the evenings and on the weekends; to enhance your child's academic and social experiences while out of school.
Athletics
Elementary and middle school athletic programs are supervised and led by certified coaches, licensed teachers or knowledgeable staff who emphasize skill development, participation, teamwork, and respect for others. Community Education also offers camps and clinics to help students gear up for the athletic programs offered at South Washington County high schools.
Kids Club
Kids Club (grades K-3) and Upgrade (grades 4-5) is the school district school-age child care program, open to all South Washington County Schools students and provided at all elementary school sites throughout the district. Out-of-School Time (OST) care is available before and after school and all day on school release days, including winter, spring and summer breaks.
Swimming
Swimming and water safety is a skill that your children will use for life! SoWashCo Schools Community Education offers swimming lessons to support youth with a wide range of skill levels.

South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) offers activities and classes for youth through SoWashCo Community Education. Activities and classes are conveniently offered at your child's school, partner locations within our community and online.

Baseball Tots is a development program for kids ages 2-4 years old. This camp will use a variety of fun games to engage kids while teaching the sport of baseball and developing fundamental skills. The goal is to build fitness, muscle coordination, baseball fundamentals and create a love of the game.
Princess Aurora’s joyful birth is shadowed by a Wicked Fairy’s spell. Raised by good fairies and forest friends, Aurora grows up surrounded by music, magic, and love—until the curse takes hold. This enchanting tale invites everyone to help awaken the sleeping beauty. No experience necessary, everyone gets a part! Performances:Friday June 26th at 6:30 and Saturday June 27th at 1:00
This classic story gets a fun twist in merry ol’ England, where Robin Hood’s legendary adventures take an unexpected turn. With clever disguises, daring contests, and bold schemes, Robin outwits the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John—until her secret is revealed! Joined by her merry band and the brave Maid Marian, Robin must use courage and wit to escape the gallows and restore justice to the land. No experience necessary, everyone gets a part! Performances:Friday August 7th at 7:00pm and August 8th at 2:00
Community Education offers teen driver’s education in partnership with Safeway Driving School. Safeway Driving School has been graduating teen drivers in the Twin Cities area for over 45 years. Safeway’s only focus is creating safe, responsible teen drivers. Classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons emphasize defensive driving techniques tailored for the inexperienced teen driver while targeting to influence the invincible teen attitude. All of Safeway’s instructors are licensed by the Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety.
Spark Equestrian’s day camps at Serenity Farm teach kids the basics of horse care, grooming, and riding.

Ages 6-12
Swimming lessons, specialty classes, fitness and recreational opportunities for adults and children as young as 12 months.
