Student Chromebook Protection

SoWashCo Schools is offering families the option of purchasing a Device Protection Plan to protect district-issued devices from accidental damage to the device; damage from fire, flood, natural disasters, or power surges; and theft (with a filed police report).

The participation cost for those choosing to enroll in the Device Protection Plan is $20 annual, per device. This is an ANNUAL protection plan where families need to renew each fall. (Families who waive the Device Protection Plan will be responsible for the full cost of repair or replacement of the device. The district issued device accessories, charging cable, power adapter “brick” and case (for iPad) are not covered by the plan.)

Families who qualify for federal educational benefits, such as free and reduced-price meals, will also be eligible for reduced pricing ($10 annually per device) or free coverage. If families are eligible, the pricing will automatically be calculated at checkout. In addition, families with multiple children will not pay more than $60 per year for Device Protection Plans.

Payment on Device Protection Plans is due upon issuing of the student’s device. The protection fee is non-refundable. Coverage begins upon the receipt of the payment and ends at the conclusion of the scheduled school year.

Please note that families who waive the device protection plan will be responsible for the full cost of repair or replacement of the device. If you have any issues signing up and paying for the device protection plan, please contact

Transportation Information

Like many school districts across Minnesota, we continue to have a critical shortage of school bus drivers. If your child qualifies for bussing, please help us make transportation services and bus routes more efficient by letting us know if your child will not be using South Washington County Schools transportation for the 2022-23 school year.

If your child qualifies for bussing and will be using their regularly scheduled bus for the 2022-23 school year, there is no action needed.

If your child will not be using the bus for the 2022-23 school year, please complete the onine Decline/Resume Transportation Service form by August 3.

Request to decline/resume transportation service

If you decline transportation for the 2022-23 school year and would like to resume at a later time, please complete the Decline/Resume Transportation service form and select the resume option, or contact our office at 651-425-5303 or via email at If a request to resume transportation is completed during the school year, you will be contacted directly. Requests to resume transportation may take 3-5 business days for student busing to be activated.

Optional Summer Opportunity for 6th, 7th and 8th graders

If students and parents would like to come in and tour the building and drop off supplies in your lockers we will be open from 9:00am -1:00pm on August 24th.  There will be no teachers here that day but if there are issues with lockers we will have custodians here to help.  If you can’t make it no worries the first two days of school we will have time built in for students to organize their lockers and get help.

Health Office Information

We are looking forward to welcoming students back in a few short weeks.  If your student will need to take daily medication in the health office or have a procedure done during the school day, please refer to the link below and click the Medications at School tab to find the correct form .

Medication Authorization Form: Should be filled out if your student will be needing to take medications during the school day or will need to have a procedure done during the school day.  Form should be returned with the medication to be administered and all necessary supplies for the procedure prior to the first day of school. This form should also be filled out and signed by both Parent and Provider.

Self-Authorization Form: If your student will be self-carrying a prescription medication for emergencies such as Inhalers or Epi-Pens, this form must be filled out and returned. The LSN will meet with the student and will update records to note where the medication will be in case of emergency (locker, backpack, in binder pouch, etc.) We do encourage middle school students to self-carry their inhalers as much as possible.

OTC medications: If you want your student to be able to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen during the school day, please update information in Campus.  Note: you must send the medication with your student as the health office does not supply medications.

Also now is a great time to check in with your child(ren)’s provider to ensure that all vaccines are current.  Health office staff return to Woodbury Middle School on August 24th and we will be available to answer any questions.  Please feel free to email or call with questions or concerns.
