School Supply Lists
School Supply Lists are on the Woodbury Middle School Website under the drop box of Parents. Here is a direct link to the WMS school supply lists:
Please note that 6th graders had a three inch binder on the supply list and it should be a 2 inch binder. We will change this once we have access to the Website. If you already bought a three inch binder, it's not a problem.
Chromebook Device Insurance 2021-22
SoWashCo Schools is again offering families the option of purchasing a device protection plan to protect district-issued devices from accidental damage from fire, flood, natural disasters, or power surges; and theft (with a filed police report).
The cost for the optional plan is $20 annually per device. Families who qualify for federal educational benefits, such as free and reduced-price meals, will also be eligible for reduced pricing ($10 annually per device) or free coverage. Families can sign up and pay for the device protection plan through the SmartSchoolK12 website.
Please note that families who waive the device protection plan will be responsible for the full cost of repair or replacement of the device. If you do not wish to get device insurance, there is nothing more you need to do. If you do not purchase the device insurance, that means you are waiving device protection.
If you have any issues signing up and paying for the device protection plan, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

CAMP 7 and 8 @ Woodbury Middle School Information
Woodbury Middle School knows that with the unique and challenging school year we just experienced we will need to provide a building orientation to our incoming 7th and 8th graders this fall. Students who were either VLA learners this past school year or who will be brand new to Woodbury Middle School for the 2021-2022 school year will be invited to an orientation program to assist in their transition to Woodbury Middle School.
Please know we are planning a “Camp 7” and “Camp 8” experience for these students to be held at Woodbury Middle School on Tuesday, August 31st from 7:50am to 2:25pm.
*The first day of school for all other 7th and 8th grade students is Wednesday, September 1st.
This programming is prepared for those students who are unfamiliar with our building (BRAND NEW to WMS and/or VLA students for the entire 20-21 school year) and would prefer to have additional time and attention in order to successfully transition on-site before the first day of school for the rest of the 7th and 8th graders on Wednesday, September 1st.
Throughout the Camp 7 and Camp 8 experience, students will get the necessary information and materials that they need to start the school year successfully. Some of the items covered during the sessions will be meeting 7th and 8th grade school staff members/teachers, learning about their class schedule and daily schedule as the school year begins, learning about school processes and procedures (including Safety Protocols and Guidelines for students onsite), school tour, organizing belongings, access to student locker, utilizing student planners, learning Schoology, etc. and SO MUCH MORE! 😊
This opportunity is OPTIONAL and Counselors will be reaching out to if you will be attending. Please mark your calendars and more information will be shared with you in August of 2021.
School breakfasts and lunches will be provided to all students free of charge again this school year. Go to the Nutrition Services at the following link https://www.sowashco.org/services/nutrition to see menus, nutritional improvements that are being made and other important information. Students can bring their own lunch from home if they choose to.
District 833 Transportation Information
District 833’s Transportation Department will communicate all specific information regarding transportation arrangements directly to you in late August. Initial information will include the bus stop location, stop time and bus route number for both morning and afternoon routing. We ask that you assist our Transportation Liaison and Woodbury Middle School staff in making sure your student knows his/her bus assignment (bus route number) for both morning and afternoon routes. This makes their experience much more positive and less stressful during the first weeks of the school year. All routes will be posted on the transportation tab of the “Parent Portal.” Additional information can be found on District 833’s webpage at www.sowashco.org under “Departments” and click “Transportation.” If you have any other questions regarding transportation issues, please call the Transportation Department Hotline directly at 651.425.5310 after August 24th.
Health Office Information
We are looking forward to welcoming students back in a few short weeks. If your student will be needing to take daily medication in the health office or have a procedure done during the school day, please refer to the documents on the health services website-
The medication authorization form needs to be filled out by a parent and signed by a provider (health office staff can assist in contacting providers) and returned with the medication to be administered before the first day of school.
If your student self carries medication, please follow the instructions on the self carry form. We do encourage middle school students to self carry their inhalers as much as possible.
Also now is a great time to check in with your child(ren)’s provider to ensure that all vaccines are current.
Health office staff return to Woodbury Middle School on August 23rd and will be available to answer any questions. I am very excited to join the WMS team as your Licensed School Nurse this year. Feel free to email or call me with questions or concerns.

Setting up Notifications in Schoology
Did you know you could set your Schoology Notifications up so that you can receive a message any time your child has a missing assignment? This will be beneficial for checking in with your student about their grades and helping them keep up to date with assignments. Special note: you may need to set this back up this school year even if you had it set up last year.
Click this link to learn how you add the notifications to your parent account.
