The 4 C's is a challenge based learning course where students collaboratively explore and research to identify a problem or challenge that is important to them. They then work through the steps of the problem solving process using critical thinking and creativity to come up with potential solutions. Throughout the process they will reflect on their progress and in the end will use various forms of communication to share with the class, and/or the community, the action that they took toward their chosen solution. A problem or challenge can be service oriented; direct, indirect or advocacy or design oriented; creating a better version of a product or designing a new product to address a challenge. It is really up to the students to decide which direction they want to go and to take ownership over their work.
